Without biases, the activation function would always pass through the origin, limiting the model's ability to learn complex patterns and relationships in the data.

The output value of each neuron represents the model's confidence or probability that the input belongs to that particular class. By introducing biases, the model can shift the activation function of each output neuron, effectively adjusting the decision boundary between different classes.

The number of biases in the output layer is equal to the number of neurons in the output layer. This is because each neuron requires its own bias term to be added to the weighted sum of inputs. For example, consider a neural network model designed to classify images into three different classes: cat, dog, and bird. In this case, the output layer would typically consist of three neurons, one for each class. Therefore, the number of biases in the output layer would also be three, with each bias term corresponding to one of the output neurons.

The values of the biases in the output layer are learned during the training process of the neural network model. The model uses an optimization algorithm, such as gradient descent, to iteratively update the weights and biases in order to minimize the difference between its predicted outputs and the true labels of the training data.
